Introduction of Frustration

Hello Everyone,

I am very new to this, but I have seen blogs become very successful for other business professionals. I am going to give it a shot, and see if I can create a buzz. I created this blog to see what kind of a dialogue could be started about a better grocery delivery service. I am in the midst of creating my very own business centered around this concern.

Grocery shopping should be easier! As I sat through my business management courses from 2007-2012, that thought continued to flow through my mind. When I was obtaining my MBA, I could not get the thought out of my mind. Being a scared little business graduate, I followed in my sister's footsteps to try the job market. WOW, what a bad idea!

Let me tell you something about the current state of the job market, especially for a recent college graduate. IT IS ALL RIGGED! I have never failed so bad at trying to impress people who could care less about any of the words coming out of my mouth. If you do not know someone, if you do not have an "in", if you do not have experience with a given company; you do not have a damn chance!

That has brought me to where I am today! I am sick and tired of working jobs that will get me no where in my professional career. I am sick and tired of listening to people who "think" they know what business is all about. I have business education experience that speaks for itself. Only problem, no one listens! Well I am going to stop listening to them!

In the end, this blog will be centered around grocery delivery services, but I do not want to limit it. Any business ideas, strategies, theories, or so on are welcome here on this blog. I want an open dialogue here for people to be able to discuss and/or debate different ideas throughout the business realm.

In the next month or so, I will be implementing and executing a business idea on delivering groceries to consumers in North Central MA and locations surrounding Worcester, MA more efficiently and effectively than any other company currently. I am looking for some input through this blog!

Please leave your ideas, thoughts, or comments. I will try to post every other day or so. Sorry about rambling or whining, but I feel this is a reality for a lot of business professionals (especially those fresh out of college.)

About Me

My name is James Maloughney. I grew up in North
Central Massachusetts in the Leominster/Fitchburg area of Worcester County. I went to a small parochial high school in Fitchburg named St. Bernard’s Central Catholic. I was a star basketball player there breaking the scoring record before I graduated (my record was broken about 4 years later). I went to Franklin Pierce University where I spent five years and received two business degrees. I acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership and Business Strategy. Once I left college, I worked for a smalll
start-up and organic food company named Little Duck Organic for about 10-11 months. The business sold organic fruit snacks for toddlers and small children. While I was there, the company grew dramatically, and the products were sold in
every state all over the country and more. I also worked for Wegman’s Food Market as a sales associate in the bakery area. These first two occupations only stoke the embers of my urge to get into the grocery industry. Lastly, I currently work at a home health care sleep company named Regional Home Care. I worked in many different positions here moving from a Respiratory Scheduler to an Insurance Compliance Team Leader. Working in the health care industry has taught me
many things, but most importantly it has taught me that creating value/caring for people really does mean a lot to consumers. Health care is supposed to be all about the patient. However, the health care industry does the complete opposite
allowing insurance companies and the government to call the shots. I vow that this company will be more than just the bottom line. I vow that this company will deliver on its promises, and create value for customers and employees to
keep them coming back for more and more.

Milkman Grocery Delivery Services is a business that was created to deliver groceries effectively, efficiently, and timely to
customers in the MA area (more states coming soon). The service will be
marketed through a large social media presence, app/website, and print media
for certain areas within Massachusetts. What you are about to read on this blog is a culmination of the the research I
have put down on paper as well as business experience/education that has driven
me to develop and build this organization. This is an idea I have had in my
head since I was finishing my MBA at Franklin Pierce University. I am going to
show everyone what the future holds for food e-commerce, and where this company
will bring the grocery industry.
